Bellagio (the original Bellagio)

Bellagio, view from boat

I took a 2-hour boat ride to Bellagio, a town up the lake. Very pretty. More of what Como is, but I made some friends, Jody and Matt, at the hostel. They're much better liars than I am, so when we met some couple having lunch, and they told us what a lovely hotel + pool they had, we decided to crash it. I am such a bad liar... I choke crossing the Canadian border even when I've got nothing to hide. Jody just talked real fast to this poor young Italian boy checking room keys, that he just ran away with his tail between his legs. We spent a couple of hours swimming in the lake and diving off some board right in the middle of it. We befriended some really cute 9 year old boys and Matt totally kicked their collective asses in a cannonball contest.

Tonight we're going to watch Italy kick the Ukraine's ass in Soccer. Uh, I mean gelato.

Today's gelati gusti: Tiramisu + Melon. A blasphemy of a concoction- Fruit and Creme. Stupid, yet satiated American.

Villa Olmo, next to the Hostel

Puppies used as a ploy to earn money by a panhandler at the lake. I was so overwhelmed by the cuteness I donated 22 cents. I felt badly afterwards that I supported this abuse. What is he going to do with them when they become dogs?
