In it for the long run...

So, I'm at Downtown Yarns in the village with the intent of picking up a circular needle. One. So the girl says to me, "you know, have you seen these?"

It's a set of interchangeable needles. You pick the needle size, pick the cable size, put them together, and voila! Tons of needle combinations. $50. Not bad, considering that each circular needle costs between $5 and $10. And considering that I only own a couple of circular needles, this was a perfect time to sell me on this. If anyone is new to knitting, but thinks they might be in it for the long run, this is a great investment.

She had me at "hello."

You bought the Denise set? Did you hear about the new Knitpicks set that's out? I bought a Boye interchangeable set about THREE DAYS BEFORE Knitpicks launched theirs. Heartsick. It looks incredibly gorgeous, and the cables (which are the biggest issue with circs) are apparently the best anyone has ever seen.

I already have the Boyes, but I'm tempted to get these *anyway*, in the smaller sizes or something. That's how good they look.
